Weezer is definitely one of my favorite bands of all time so it was but natural for me to listen to the streaming audio of the catchy first single Pork and Beans on their site every single day until the Red Album'srelease over a month ago.
The video of Pork and Beans is a delight to watch as well - it features a decade's worth of popular internet memes & various "famous" YouTube personalities, most if not all of us net-nerds will readily recognize. In true Weezer fashion, the new album is chock-full of their brand of tongue-in-cheek power pop that fans have grown to love over the years.
So anyway, I guess listening to the song over & over for more than a month led me to come up with the following design -
Pork & Benz: You don't even have to be a Weezer fan to appreciate it. It's for everyone who likes pork. And German cars. You can see the other t-shirt styles and colors the design is available in by clicking the image/link above, or by clicking HERE.

I discovered the Twilight-inspired indie band The Bella Cullen Project via today's Twilight Tuesday blog and fell head over heels in love with their music instantly. How can I not? I'm a sucker for jingly jangly guitar riffs, sugar & spice melodies and vocal harmonizing, and, well, practically anything related to Twilight. Their lyrics also display a remarkable grasp of Stephenie Meyer's characterization of Edward & Jacob as you will witness in "Vampwolf", a song wherein the perspective switches from vampire to werewolf & vice versa.
He doesn't understand what it's like to miss you every day of his life He doesn't understand the need to kiss you in the moonlight (Edward) He even let you jump, how could he be so reckless? (Jacob) He'd sooner take your life, how could he be so selfish?
Visit their myspace and listen to "Sexy Vampire", "Vampwolf" and "Switzerland", I highly recommend it!
Having grown up in the eighties, it's only natural that a good amount of our t-shirt designs are devoted to the decade that spawned the most outlandish fashion trends in the last century.
So, being a self-touted 80s specialist, I took the liberty of compiling what I think are the 10 Excellent (like, totally) 80s Tees in the Cafepress marketplace, the common thread being that all my picks display (1) wicked wit, (2) gnarly design, and (3) enough ambiguity so that you have to truly be a fan of the decade to get what the design is about (I think any hardcore fan wants that kind of exclusivity, right?).
There are tons more awesome eighties t-shirts where these came from. If you think I overlooked a particular excellent (say that ala Bill & Ted now) design, let me know via the comments box below.
Japan is my second home and whenever I'm away from it, I really miss the scenery, the people, and most especially the food. I love onigiri, the smoked salmon variety in particular - I used to eat it for lunch every day and still probably would, if ONLY it were available here. I also take credit for turning my husband into an onigiri lover as well.
The Koshihikari Toro brand onigiri available at Lawson outlets all over Japan is the best - they use high quality rice and the smoked salmon in the middle is very tasty!
Onigiri is basically a seasoned ball of rice packed with some kind of savory filling in the middle, typically tuna, salmon, or pickled fruit and then wrapped in a crisp sheet of nori. One word - exquisite.
So of course, my husband and I just had to make t-shirts honoring our favorite rice ball.
If you're a fan of Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of Anthony Burgess' "A Clockwork Orange", the following ultraviolent gang-fight scene probably scared the living daylights out of you (as it did me). Heck, just reading the novel scared me to bits! It was that chilling *shudders*.
In light of this, we present to you Poptastic's Alex vs. Billy Boy design on t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, and other merchandise.
Whether you're with Team Alex or Team Billy Boy, wearing this tee will surely capture the attention of other Clockwork Orange fans. (Just be sure to point them to us if they ask where you got your sladky platties! ;) )
Vanity Fair is running an article on Bright Young Hollywood this week and who should be gracing the cover but some of our favorite leading ladies in pop culture!
From left to right: - Amanda Seyfried was in Veronica Mars as Lilly Kane, Veronica's murdered best friend. - Emma Roberts is of course, the latest Nancy Drew* - Blake Lively is most popular as the beautiful Serena Van Der Woodsen in Gossip Girl - Kristen Stewart is playing the intriguing Bella Swan in the upcoming Twilight movie.
Check out how Poptastic has paid tribute to the works of fiction that these characters are based on:
*I really should make Nancy Drew designs especially since I did grow up reading the books and watching The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew MysteriesTV series (with Pamela Sue Martin as Nancy). So yeah, watch out for that.

I may be making too big a deal out of this but I am excited over the fact that Leighton Meester has Sean Lennon on her iPod. Why? Because it shows that Blair, one of my favorite characters in Gossip Girl, has excellent taste, IMHO. I have about 3 Gigabytes of iPod space devoted to Mr. Lennon and his side projects - ok, 10 Gig if we're also counting music by his legendary father.
For those who are not familiar with Sean Lennon's awesomeness, click the play button below.
And if that made you crave for more, I highly recommend Friendly Fire (CD+DVD), it's the best album you'll ever own. Trust me.

How can we not blog about Jason? He was definitely one of our favorites on AI this season - I mean, what's not to love? Good looks and great personality, check. Beautiful singing voice, check. Spunk and originality, check check check!
Poptastic also had a blast designing shirts for his fans. In fact, in our one and a half years running a t-shirt shop online, never before have we had one shirt by us - let alone two - appear on international TV. In the same month at that.
There you have it, that's the power of Jason Castro.
* Calling all Dreadheads, do send us photos of you wearing our shirts so we can put them in the gallery. :)
UPDATE (9.05.08): From now on, we will no longer be selling Jason Castro fan merchandise. Please head on over to his official site, Jason Castro Music, to show him and his family your support! To Jason, thank you for the music. Poptastic Tees wishes you all the best.

Wow, the kid sure can sing! Archie was one of Poptastic's favorites during the AI season 7 run and we cannot be happier that he landed a record deal even as a runner-up to AI winner David Cook. This means the whole world will get to hear a lot more from him, right?
The American Idol summer tour kicked off yesterday, and it's definitely not too late to buy tour shirts that you can wear to show support for your idols! Click HERE to see our designs.
*Poptastic thanks the Archie fan group on Facebook who've decided to make the above design their "official" tour shirt. You guys are the best. :) Remember to send us photos so we can include them in the gallery!
